KV Korfball Club withdraws from competition

We are sad to announce that KV Korfball Club & Academy (Medway, Kent) has informed England Korfball that they will be withdrawing from all adult korfball competitions, citing the challenges following the coronavirus pandemic to fill their adult teams.

The club confirmed their withdrawal in a statement on Wednesday, “…unfortunately the committee had to make the very difficult and sad decision to withdraw from all adult competition for the foreseeable future”

When the 2019/20 England Korfball Premier League season was curtailed KV were in 6th place in the league with 6 wins from 15 matches. KV also fielded adult teams in the South East Regional league as well as local leagues.

Junior korfball to continue

The youth teams will continue, the club statement said: “our juniors have gone from strength to strength, thanks to our committed coaches and junior members.

“KVKC will continue to run and support the junior teams with the aim to build from this basis and come back stronger”

“We would like to thank everyone in the Korfball community for their continued support.

“Mostly we would like to thank all our adult members for their loyalty, support and commitment over the years.

“We hope adult club members remain in the korfball community and continue to play and enjoy the sport”
