Bec win Gold at the IKF Europa Shield 2020

Bec Korfball (Tooting, London) have won the IKF Europa Shield with a masterclass performance against Vallparadis from Catalonia.

History makers – Bec have made history today as the first club to win back-to-back titles at the Europa Shield and also are now the most successful club in the tournaments 20 year history with four titles (2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020.

Joe BEDFORD top scored for Bec with seven goals, with Blake PALFREYMAN just two goals behind with five for the match.

Bedford ended as the tournament’s top male goal scorer with an impressive 28 goals. Rachel TURNER and Heather IKWUEMESI both scored 9 during the tournament.

Bec have now won Gold on four occasions; 2020, 2019, 2017 and 2015, with a Silver medal in 2018 and 2016.

The IKF Europa Shield 2020 took place between 24 – 26 January in Bergisch Gladbach, Germany.
