Youth Inter Area Review

The England Korfball Competition Sub Committee have reviewed the competition structure of the Youth Inter-Area events.

Following feedback from our international coaching teams, we are considering changing some of the age group dates to be in-line with International competitions. This would mean that players in the Under 15 and Under 17 age groups would be born after 31st December in the relevant year. However, for age groups below that, the cut of date would not change i.e. players would be born after 31st August in the relevant year in line with school years.

In addition our international coaches would like to see more inter-area youth competitions held during the year. The main England Korfball Inter-Area will still be organised by England Korfball and take place in January each year. We therefore would welcome and encourage more inter-area events being organised by the Area Associations working together.

Finally, for a variety of reasons we propose to discontinue the Under 19 Inter-Area Competition.
