U16 Korfball World Cup 2014

The England under-16 squad tomorrow (13 March) travel to the Europe for the 16th edition of the U16 Korfball World Cup, which will take place in the town of Schijndel in the Netherlands between the 14-16 March 2014.

Nine teams from 8 countries will compete in the three day tournament. Belarus, Catalonia, Chinese Taipei, Czech Republic, KNKV District South, ENGLAND, Germany, Hungary and Netherlands.

England have been drawn in a pool along with Germany and District South – a region of the Netherlands. The groups were decided using the latest IKF ranking of the under 16 age group.

For the matches against District South, the IKF have confirmed that “The results of this team will not count for the ranking in the pools and finals. However: Points earned against this team will count in the ranking in the groups Saturday and Sunday ranking in the pools and finals”

GROUP A: Netherlands, Czech Republic, Belarus

GROUP B: Chinese Taipei, Hungary, Catalonia

GROUP C: Germany, ENGLAND, District South.
