EK Board delighted to announce Simon Reeves is new Chair of the International Strategic Committee
Following a round of open recruitment, Simon Reeves has been appointed as the new Chair of the England Korfball International Strategic Committee.
Simon has significant professional experience including a 35-year career in the banking sector.
Simon brings a lifelong passion for sport to the role. He has overseen a significant expansion of activities, including major fundraising and participation growth at Trafford Rowing Club where he is Chair and Director. Simon is also a member of the Board for British Rowing.
Development of a new strategy
England Korfball chair Ellen Pearce said: “We are delighted to welcome Simon Reeves to the international set up as Chair of the Strategic Committee. His experience in strategy development, governance, performance sports and fundraising will be an asset to the team”
Simon will lead the International Committee through the development of a new 3-5 year strategy and focus on bringing funds into the set up to support our England squads. He takes over from Ellen Pearce, who has been interim Chair since January 2018.

The England Korfball Board would like to thank Sarah Friday and Nicole Sparks who both stand down from their International Committee roles.
Nicole Sparkes has been a squad manager for our International squads for 8 years, with her first appointment in 2011. Highlights include winning Bronze at the 2017 Under-17 World Cup against Chinese Taipei and also in 2018 when England U19 won Bronze at the European Championships. Nicole will continue to support the England U21 squad in their preparations for the IKF U21 European Korfball Championship 2019.
Sarah Friday stands down as Operations and Logistics Manager for the International Squads. She has contributed a huge amount to the management of the set up over the last few years, which has included being team manager for the Senior Squad on a number of overseas trips. Thank you to you both.
