LFF Grand finals line-up completed!
Bec, Norwich Knights and Kingfishers are the teams who will try to knock Trojans off their perch when they compete for English korfball’s biggest prize at the K2 Crawley in May.
The line-up for the LFF Korfball Grand Finals in Crawley was confirmed today (09 April) with the conclusion of the regular England Korfball League season.
We are expecting a bumper crowd for the LFF Grand Finals and spectators will be rewarded with a sporting spectacular, the kind of which has not been seen at an English korfball event before.
Trojans are going for 10 championships in a row – a run which stretches back to the 2007/08. Standing in their way will be Bec, Norwich Knights and Kingfishers.
Bec, runners-up for the past three seasons, will hope to go one better this time round. However, they did lose their two matches against Trojans this season, but they still managed to finish just one point behind.
Trojans booked their place in the finals a few weeks ago and have only lost one match this season – against Norwich Knights.
Knights will go into the finals full of confidence after that victory over Trojans recently. They finished in third place in the regular league.
Kingfishers held on to their Grand Finals place on the final weekend of the regular season, despite not playing. They have seven wins to their name this season.
On Saturday 6th May, Trojans will face Kingfishers and Bec play Norwich Knights. The winners will face off in the final on Sunday 7th May.
Despite winning nine in a row, Trojans don’t hold the record for the most number of championship wins – that accolade is still held by Mitcham Korfball Club, who have 14 to their name.
