Steve Jones appointed as main referee for European Championship Final 2021

On Saturday (30 October) the final of the International Korfball Federation (IKF) European Korfball Championships will take place between Belgium and Netherlands at the Lotto Arena in Antwerp, Belgium.

We’re delighted to confirm that England Korfball League referee, Steve Jones, has been appointed as the main referee for the Final.

Welsh referee Steve Jones, 51, is England Korfball’s most experienced active referee and regularly takes charge of matches in our top league, including the final at the Copper Box Arena in London.

Jones has been an IKF Elite referee for a number of years. Today’s final will be his 190th International appointment. He was also selected as the main referee for the World Championship Final in 2011, the Europa Cup Final in 2012 and the European Championships Final in 2018.

Steve will be assisted in Saturday’s final by Lucas Pazourek (Czech Republic) and Carlos Faria (Portugal) as reserve referee.

The IKF European Korfball Championships takes place between 25 – 30 October 2021 in Antwerp, Belgium. 

All matches will be available to watch for free on the IKF live streaming service available on www.worldkorfball.sport and www.youtube.com/ikfchannel.
