International Squad Vacancies
There are several vacancies and opportunities to get involved with the various International squads. The International Strategic Committee are keen to build a wide pool of talented coaches and team managers at international level to support a strategic approach to succession planning and to expand the expertise/experience and performance of the international squads.
All roles will sit on the International Coaching Subcommittee with the purpose of implementing the strategic objectives established by the Strategic International Committee.
All roles are expected to promote the positive image of England Korfball to all third parties and external organisations. All post holders are also required to adhere to and implement the policies of England Korfball.
The following roles are available: –
Coach, Development Squad
Given the high levels of interest in representing England Korfball at U15 and U17 levels, a development squad has been created for players with potential from both squads to be considered for international selection. The squad will work on aspects of performance and development and assist athletes in their development as players. The aim is also to provide international competition for players in this squad
The role of the coach of the development squad is to be responsible for talent identification, development and increasing the standard of Korfball in England. The coach will implement the annual operational plan for the squad and coach the players and teams in preparation for international competition. This will include coaching at all training sessions and international competition.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities include but not exclusively:-
- Planning and development for coaching on a session by session
- Coach delivery at training sessions
- Increase the playing standard of korfball in England through effective coaching
- Athlete development and support
- Serve as a role model and mentor for athletes
- Managing team dynamics and athlete positive behaviour
- Attend domestic and international tournaments as required by the role
- Promote the image and perception of England Korfball
- To attend yearly CPD provided by England Korfball to ensure up to date with current coaching practice
- Adhere to the policies and procedures of England Korfball
- Act as an ambassador for England Korfball
Whilst appropriate coaching qualifications are desirable, we are happy to consider coaches with the necessary experience and expertise; we will work with the successful applicant(s) to achieve appropriate qualifications in due course.
Assistant Coach, U17 Squad
To assist the Lead Coach and the existing assistant coach, for the Squad, in implementing the annual operational plan for the squad and to assist in coaching the players and teams in preparation for international competition. This will include coaching at all training sessions and international competition.

- Assist the lead coach with session by session planning
- Coach delivery at training sessions

Team Manager, U19 Squad
To manage players and coaching staff of the England Korfball U19 Squad.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities include but not exclusively:-
- To provide safeguarding and welfare support to the England U19 Squad
- To take the lead in proactively planning, organising and implementing the annual operating plan for the squad in conjunction with the Lead Coach, Performance Lead and Operations and Logistics Lead
- To attend training sessions for the squad when required and to manage the requirements of the coach and players at those training sessions
- Have input in the process of the appointment of volunteers to fulfil roles to assist the squad
- Manage the respective England Korfball age squad at all domestic and international events
- To arrange for the payment for items and activities in that plan in good time in conjunction with the Finance Lead
- To manage, plan, control, record and report on all financial requirements, obligations and activities of the squad’s players and staff
- Attend domestic and international tournaments as required by the role
- To ensure that squad activity adheres to the England Korfball policies and procedures and, where required, follow the procedures within these policies
- Promote the image and perception of England Korfball
- Act as an ambassador for England Korfball
Assistant Coach, Senior Squad
To assist the Lead Coach, for the Squad, in implementing the annual operational plan for the squad and to assist in coaching the players and teams in preparation for international competition. This will include coaching at all training sessions and international competition.
