Thank you to all the members who attended the two Return to Play briefing sessions in the last two weeks. England Korfball are working on getting all the evidence, proposals and guidance in place with a view to submitting our Return to Play plans to government by the end of August.
This will include a thorough analysis of korfball game-play to ascertain the risk level based on the government framework which looks at the proximity and duration of close contact between players, and pending the outcomes, a series of risk mitigation factors to ensure we do everything possible to limit the potential for transmission of Covid 19. This is likely to include modifications to the game such that we limit close contact with other players, where players are closer than a metre.
It is likely that the Board will call an Extraordinary General Meeting in September to provide Return to Play briefings for members. Please look out for further information.
We are aware that many of our members have been running fitness or skills sessions according to the current guidance and that you are keen to progress this into training where equipment, especially balls, can be shared.
The Competitions Subcommittee, Return to Play working group and the Board have reviewed this part of the guidance and would like to confirm that our current guidance remains in place.
