John Denton and Lizzie Reeves appointed to England U19

England Korfball are pleased to confirm that John Denton has been appointed as England Under 19s Lead Coach with Lizzie Reeves as Team Manager. 

Trials for the England U19 squad will be held on Saturday 13 November 2021 at Trinity Sports Club in Croydon, South London.

Denton, an IKF Level 3 Coach and former senior international player is the current Head Coach of England Korfball League side Bec Korfball Club (Tooting, London) having been appointed in August-2017.

Following his appointment to Head Coach of Bec, Denton led the club to two further IKF Europa Shield titles, winning in 2019 and 2020, the first club ever to retain the trophy.

Within the England international set-up, Denton has held several Assistant Coaching positions, most recently with the England senior squad at the IKF European Championships 2021 in Belgium.

I am extremely proud to be appointed England U19 Lead Coach. I am looking forward to the trials and then working with the squad as we prepare for the European Championships next year” said Denton.

The England U19 will be preparing for the International Korfball Federation’s Under-19 European Championships which will take place between 15-17 April 2022 in Kutná Hora, Czech Republic.

The tournament was supposed to take place in 2021 but was postponed by one year due to the pandemic.
