Update

In light of recent government announcements England Korfball would like to confirm that current guidance for clubs is still valid.

We understand that team sports that have had their Return To Play plans agreed will be able to continue from Monday 14th September in their current format. England Korfball’s Return to Play plan was submitted to DCMS at the end of August and we are awaiting their response.

In preparation for the resumption of play, England Korfball would like to highlight measures that will be elements of the Return to Play plan:

COVID-19 Officer

When the Return to Play plans are published, England Korfball will require each club and area association to nominate an individual to become the Korfball COVID-19 Officer.

The individual will need to complete their details with England Korfball, confirming that they are aware of their responsibilities and that they have read and understood the applicable guidance. This can not be completed until Return to Play plans are published, however it will need to be completed before any activity is undertaken. England Korfball recommends that clubs and area associations prepare their nomination in readiness. This individual should have a knowledge of EK safeguarding, GDPR and be able to access the England Korfball website for further information.

Risk Assessment

A risk assessment must be completed for all korfball activity and is to be considered alongside England Korfball Return to Play guidelines and the club’s other Health and Safety documents. The risk assessment process must be subject to continual review.

DBS Checks

Clubs and area associations must ensure, where appropriate, that all DBS checks are current and valid. England korfball has resumed it’s DBS check service.
