England Korfball warmly welcomes confirmation of the fourth stage of the roadmap from Monday 19 July.

We await the publication of the updated detailed government guidance that will provide advice on how to reduce the risk of transmission when exercising and will respond, updating our guidance to reflect this.

While we await this, we draw attention to the headline updates provided by Sport England which we expect Korfball to be able to follow from 19th July.

Summary:

  • There’ll be no set restrictions on how many people can take part in sport and physical activity, indoors and outdoors.
  • All forms of activity will be able to take place without set restrictions, we would expect modified ‘guarded korfball’ rules will no longer be in place.
  • All sports facilities will be able to open, including ancillary facilities. There will be no indoor capacity limits, however venues may put in place some restrictions and guidance for enclosed areas.
  • Organised sport participation events will be able to take place outdoors with no capacity caps for participants or spectators.

Any sport and physical activity that is being undertaken before 19 July should continue to follow the Step 3 guidance.
