England Performance Programme Update
The England Programme will commence the implementation of the new Performance Strategy to medal at the World Games with the launch of the England Elite Training Squad (ETS) and the England Development Squad (DTS).
England Elite Training Squad (ETS).
Up to 24 Players will be selected for the Elite Training Squad following six weeks of the National League. There will be no age restriction for the ETS. Players recruited for the ETS will be players meeting performance standards to compete at the World Championships in 2023 and the World Games in 2025. The ETS will be reviewed annually and will provide a monthly programme of development for players over 12 months. Players selected by the England coaches will be invited to an induction camp in October followed by monthly camps thereafter.
England Development Training Squad (DTS)
Up to 24 Players will be selected for the England Development Training Squad following six weeks of the National League. There will be no age restriction for the England Development Squad. Players recruited for the DTS will be players with the potential to reach performance standards to compete at the World Championships in 2023 and the World Games in 2025 and 2029. Players will be recruited for a 2-year period with annual reviews completed at the end of the season.
World Cup Qualifiers 2022IKF EU World Korfball Championship Qualifier – A October 17-22.
16 Players will be selected for the England Team to compete in the World Cup Qualifiers taking place between October 17 and October 22. Travelling on the Saturday 15 October and returning on Sunday 23 October. The team preparation programme will take place at provisionally at Trinity, Croydon on the following dates. (The venue will be reviewed based on the location of players selected.)

The estimated player cost for the tournament will be £1050.
Any player wishing to be considered for the England World Championship Qualifier Team should express their interest by completing this form. All players expressing an interest will be reviewed in the selection process. All nominations must be submitted by 5pm on 31 July. The team will be announced on 4 August.
The objective for the tournament is to qualify for the World Championships. It will also provide opportunity for some players to experience international competition and provide players an opportunity to push for selection on the Elite Training Squad and Development Training Squad.
IKF U21 European Korfball Championship 2022
England will not be sending a team to the U21 in 2022. We have reviewed the invitation to attend the U21 Euros and believe that due to, proximity of World Cup Qualifiers, player availability, resource availability, feedback from the U21 age group re timing of the event, September is not a good time for a tournament. Critically, attending the tournament this year will not contribute to achieving the long-term strategic aims of the programme. This decision will allow us to ensure our limited resources are instead focused on establishing the England senior performance programme and the England junior programme.
