On Sunday 6th July 2025 teams from Bromley, Cambridge City, Cambridge Tigers, Croydon, Kingfisher, Nomads, Norfolk Dragons and WWLS travelled to Shelford Rugby Club in Great Shelford near Cambridge to take part in the 2025 National Youth Day hosted by Cambridgeshire.
After the lovely hot summer weather in the weeks before, the normal British summer returned for the day and the weather was a mix of sunshine and heavy thundery showers and after a break for around 45 minutes to allow the lightning and thunderstorm to pass, the day was played in very good spirits.
The Under 9s had 9 teams take part with a top three of Bromley Orange, WWLS (Norwich) 1 and WWLS (Norwich) 2.
The Under11s had 9 teams take part with a top three of Bromley Orange, Croydon Eagles and Bromley Yellow.
The Under 13s had 6 teams take part with a top three of Bromley, Croydon and Cambridge City.
Thank you to Zoe and Simon from Cambridgeshire and the volunteers that helped with hosting the day and to all of the referees, coaches and players (parents) who travelled to take part.
