National Youth Day 2014

National Youth Day is a competition for Clubs and Schools in support of their youth development programmes.

National Youth Day 2014 will be held on Sunday 29 June 2014 at: Club Langley, 2 Hawksbrook Lane, Beckenham, Kent, BR3 3SR.

Games will begin at 10:00 and the competition will close at approximately 17:00. All entries must be received by Sunday 15 June 2014, after which time entries will not be accepted.

If a team has entered and withdraws after the 15 June 2014, then that team may be liable for entry fees and an administration charge of £20.00.

Team entries cost £15 per team and £10 per Under 9 team. All payments should be made to: England Korfball Association (EKA) Finance Officer, North House, 198 High Street, Tonbridge, Kent, TN9 1BE or online payment to the EKA bank account: Sort code: 40-31-06 Account number 42208008.

Entries are for the following age groups:

Under 9s – playing Korfball4 and girls may play as boys and vice versa. However, each team must be mixed, although having only one of a particular sex rather than two will be allowed.

Under 11s – again boys can play as girls and vice-versa. However, each section must be mixed although having only one of a particular sex rather than two in each section will be allowed. Where legal teams exist substitutions cannot be made to replace girl with boys and vice versa, excepting where an injury occurs and in the interest of the game.

Under 13s, Under 16s and Under 19s, no players can play as the opposite sex.

All teams will be under the age group on 1st September 2013. Any player over the age group that is intentionally played without prior consent will automatically render that team/club illegal. The control desk must be advise that a team is composite in nature before the start of the tournament. Teams can play as composite teams, but will under no circumstance be allowed to win the competition. Players may play up one age group only. Players cannot play down an age group.

  • U9 – born after 31/08/2004
  • U11 – born after 31/08/2002
  • U13 – born after 31/08/2000 (but before 01/09/2004)
  • U16 – born after 31/08/1997 (but before 01/09/2002)
  • U19 – born after 31/08/1994 (but before 01/09/2000)

England Korfball League clubs must supply a list of their referees separately as previously advised by the EKA Competitions Sub-Committee and must be at least theory qualified.

Teams should bring a copy of the team list below for submission at the tournament.
