National Tour for England Korfball Chairman

Starting next week England Korfball Chairman Craig Gosling will embark on a six week ‘National Tour’ during which time he hopes to meet as many of you as possible.

We have dedicated volunteers throughout the country all working hard to develop and grow our sport. I know there’s a lot of fantastic work taking place. Over the next six weeks I would like to meet face-to-face with as many people as possible, to learn more about their local programs, and also to listen to their views ahead of our Annual General Meeting and our Membership Consultation.

“I want to hear from our members, to understand what is important to them and to see how England Korfball may be able to support their plans. I want to hear first hand from the Area Associations and our members”

The first confirmed stop on the National Tour will be on Sunday, 10 April in Cambridge. Craig will be at Bicester Business Centre (OX26 4LD) from midday onwards.

Quickly followed by the second stop on the National Tour on Monday, 11 April in Manchester. Craig will be meeting North-West chair Richard Dawson and a number of representatives from the local clubs from 17:30 in the city centre (venue to be confirmed).

The third confirmed round-table session on the National tour will be Monday, 18 April 2016 in Norfolk. Craig will be at Daynes Sport Centre (at the senior training session) from 20:00 and would like to meet as many people as possible.

The following tour dates have been confirmed:

  • Sunday, 10 April 12:00 – Cambridge
  • Monday, 11 April 17:30 – Manchester
  • Monday, 18 April 20:00 – Norfolk
  • Saturday, 23 April – Yorkshire *TBC*
  • Monday, 25 April – Oxford

In addition to the above dates, Craig is also keen to visit Birmingham, Bristol, East Midlands, London and Kent.

The England Korfball Board members and I are keen to hear about the current activities taking place in the areas, answer any questions and hear feedback on our current consultation

For anyone that isn’t able to meet Craig in person during one of his National Tour stops, we will also be hosting two telephone conference calls (Wed, 20 April and Wed, 04 May) where Craig will provide a guide to the proposals.

The official closing date for responses to the Membership Consultation is Monday, 2 May 2016. England Korfball will then review all the responses received and will respond to the proposal by 23 May.

The England Korfball Annual General Meeting will take place on Saturday, 25 June 2016 in Cambridge.
