We reluctantly announce that the Chair of England Korfball, Marvin Robinson, has decided for personal reasons to step down. Marvin was recruited in November 2023, but his appointment was not announced until earlier this month as Marvin was having to deal with some family health issues. Despite this, Marvin still used the time to provide valuable assistance to the organisation, including familiarising himself with the organisation to help inform his leadership in the upcoming strategic review. However, due to the ongoing family health issues, Marvin has decided that he needs to step down to focus on these issues and his family. Marvin said:- “The decision to step down has not been easy and comes after thoughtful reflection on my personal circumstances which necessitate stepping down at this time. It has been an absolute honour to serve in this capacity, in the short period of time that I have, alongside such a dedicated set of volunteers, and to contribute to the sport. I have every confidence in the Board’s ability to continue stabilising the sport and to lead it to new heights” Clive Dobbin, Operations Director, said:- “It was with great reluctance that England Korfball accepted the resignation of Marvin as Chair, but we respect his reasons for doing so. We thank him for the contribution that he has made, and we wish him and his family the very best for the future. We will now start the recruitment process to recruitment a new Chair, and we will update the Korfball community as soon as we are able to do so. In the circumstances, we will postpone the stakeholder engagement meeting which was due to take place on Wednesday 17 April 2024 but will look to re-arrange a new date in the near future” Any queries or questions should be directed to Clive Dobbin, Operations Director.
