Game based coaching – workshop now available for coaches


England Korfball are excited to be able to offer a free virtual workshop for coaches to support their continuing professional development (CPD).


The interactive Game Based Coaching workshop will take place on Wednesday 24th April, 7-8.30pm and is available for all England Korfball coaches, regardless of experience and qualification(s). The session will allow coaches to:


  • Explore why game-based coaching might be appropriate in Korfball
  • Discuss some ways in which game-based can be designed and delivered


The session will be delivered by Professor Don Vinson and Kevin Moss. Don is course Leader for MSc Sports Coaching at the University of Worcester and has written extensively in the area of sport coaching, performance analysis, leadership and higher education pedagogy. Don is also the UK representative for the International Advisory Board for the Teaching Games for Understanding Special Interest Group and has worked with a number of National Governing Bodies, particularly around coach development. He is currently the Head Coach of the England U16 girls’ hockey squad. For further information, click here.


Kev is a highly experienced coach and coach educator. An IKF Level 3 Korfball coach and Level 2 Cricket coach Kev has supported athletes from Junior level all the way up to National level for the past 15 years. He has been a leading figure in the development of Korfball Coaching standards over the last 10 years supporting over 300+ new Korfball coaches. Kev is also a founding member of Manchester Warriors Korfball Club, which allows him to add perspective and appreciation into club development and how to build a strong coaching methodology within clubs.

The workshop has been organised based on feedback from the latest coach CPD survey. It is hoped that this workshop will provide appetite for future coach CPD sessions in Korfball.
