England Korfball Officials at 2023 World Championships

A number of England Korfball officials have been appointed to the International Korfball Federation’s (IKF) World Championships in Taiwan this October. Referees Steve Jones (IKF Elite) and Chris West (IKF Level 1) have both been appointed as referees.

Steve Jones is one of the most experienced international referees, having been the lead referee at the most recent World Championship Final, European Championship Final and World Games Final. Chris West started refereeing for the IKF in 2020 and has refereed the U19 World Championship Final, as well as at the Korfball Champions League Finals earlier this year.

England Korfball is also represented by Paul Jeanes who will be one of three IKF Referee Assessors at the World Championship, along with Theo van de Linde (NED) and Lukas Filip (CZE).  Paul was a senior IKF referee before joining the IKF Referee Committee.

Dean Woods, who was Chair of England Korfbal’ls PR and Communications Committee for over a decade, will also be attending as a member of the IKF Media team in his role as Chair of the IKF Marketing, ICT & Live Streaming Committees.  Dean is the current Marion Atkinson awardee and also a previous IKF referee, having refereed the 2015 World Championship final.
