England Korfball League is back!

Finally, we’re back! After a long offseason over the summer months the 2014/15 England Korfball league starts today (12 October). There are three matches on this opening weekend.

Last seasons league champions, Trojans from Croydon, South London get the 2014/15 season underway with a home game against Kingfisher from East Malling, Kent. The match starts at 11:45 at Trinity Sports Club, Croydon.

Kingfisher finished last season in 6th place in the league – How much of an influence will the return to Kingfisher of Ross Carr-Taylor who completed his transfer from Croydon KC on 06 October make?

The second match in the 2014/15 England Korfball League between Bec and Norwich Knights starts at 13:00 at Whitgift Sports Centre, Croydon.

Bec Korfball Club narrowly lost to Trojans in the end of season play-off final 17-18. Bec have also been active during the offseason transfer window, signing Sara Roberts from Birmingham City.

Norwich Knights finished in 4th place after the regular season last season have the potential to cause Bec a number of challenges. We’re expecting a great match!

The final match on the opening weekend of the England Korfball League is between Birmingham City and Nomads, starting at 14:30.

Nomads finished last season in 3rd place after the regular season have signed 21-year-old Carina Lamelas from Mitcham Korfball Club. Nomads have also added to their coaching staff, with former England coach Peter Teague joining Nomads as assistant coach to Dave Butters.
