Clive Dobbin and Lereesa Easterbrook appointed to EK Board
England Korfball have appointed two new members to our Board, with Clive Dobbin taking the new position of Strategic Operations Lead and Lereesa Easterbrook as our new member for Legal.
Clive Dobbin
Clive was previously involved in the Performance Programme for England Korfball, first as the Logistics & Operations Lead, organising the logistics for training sessions and for the attendance at international tournaments. Subsequently, Clive took over the role as Performance Lead, leading on the delivery of the new strategy for the international programme.
Clive has a background in sports administration, particularly in American Football. Clive was a founding member and general manager for Solent Seahawks, a youth and junior American Football team in Southampton. He then joined the NGB for American Football, the British American Football Association, occupying various roles, including National Teams Co-Ordinator, managing the national Great Britain teams for junior, women, flag and the adult senior team. He then transferred to National League Commission Lead, managing the adult senior leagues, before becoming Operations Lead, overseeing the overall operations for American Football, including oversight for the league, national teams, discipline and safeguarding. Clive remains involved with American Football, as game day manager for Solent Thrashers, a team in the adult Premier League.
Clive’s other passion in sport is football. Where Clive is a season ticket holder for Southampton FC.He is also a qualified referee, and having retired from refereeing he trains and mentors young referees at the academy for Southampton FC.Clive is also involved in sports disciplinary tribunals, being on the judicial/disciplinary panels for American Football, the Equine Associations, UK Athletics and Lawn Tennis.
In his day job, Clive is a solicitor and partner at Paris Smith, a firm of solicitors in Southampton. He specialises in employment law, and is head of department of the Employment Department and he is also a member of the Management Committee.
Clive is also chair of governors for HSDC College, a college with campuses in Portsmouth, Havant and Alton with 5,000 students. He has been a governor at HSDC college for 8 years, 2 years as chair, having previously been a governor for 8 years at Totton College. He is also lead governor for safeguarding.
Lereesa Easterbrook
Lereesa is a Senior Associate in the Sports Regulatory team at a leading international law firm. She acts primarily for national and international sports governing bodies and federations in relation to a wide range of contentious and regulatory matters across a range of sports. She is also founder and Chair of her law firm’s social mobility network and a long-standing diversity and inclusion advocate.
Lereesa is extremely passionate about sport, having played tennis to a high level as a junior athlete and netball since she was a child. She is looking forward to applying her skills and experience to her new role at England Korfball.
This appointments follow from a round of open recruitment and the appointment will be ratified by the England Korfball membership at the next AGM.
