Europa Shield 2016: BEC into SEMI-FINALS with 100% win record

BEC KORFBALL CLUB from Tooting, South London have made it into the Semi-Finals of the IKF Europa Shield after an impressive second day.

Dave Buckland, BEC Korfball Club’s head coach said: “In our first match it was a very strong performance against a very good young Hungarian side. They played rebound defence which we took control of and scored some very well worked goals.

“After the game yesterday and only getting 2 points it was vital to get maximum points from both matches today.

“Game 3 was against Castellbisbal from Catalonia which was a great game for korfball, both teams scoring goals.

“We started very well and kept the lead for the whole game. It was very tight at the end but we controlled the play well and finished 17-15 winners.

“Two great squad performances and tomorrow onto the semi finals!”

Bec’s first match on Day 2 of the Europa Shield was against 1908 SZAC KSE who had surprised many people with their opening day win against Castellbisbal 15-17.
