Opportunities for existing Coaches to access the new EK Level 2 Coaching Certificate
We are also delighted to announce that alongside our Level 2 Coaching Courses that there will be an opportunity for existing qualified BKA Level 2 Coaches or Coaches with several years’ coaching experience* to gain the full EK Level 2 Coaching Certificate to get their qualifications fully up to date!
For those on the conversion to EK Level 2, the course cost is fixed at £199 per person (video assessment, excluding in-situ assessment).
Level 1 Award in Coaching Korfball
The objective of the England Korfball Level 1 Coaching Award is to equip learners with the basic individual skills, techniques and rules of the game to support a more qualified coach. It will help learners to develop their confidence in coaching Korfball ensuring that the sessions they deliver are enjoyable and safe.
Who is the course for?
- This course is designed for coaches that;
- Are operating as ‘Assistant Coaches’ in their club environment
- Are players that have experience of playing the game but have little experience of coaching
- Are young leaders (minimum of 16 years of age)
- Simply want to help out as a parent / helper
- Are not expected to or required to coach independently
How long is the course?
The course is 6 hours in duration.
Teaching Children Korfball Award
The Teaching Children Korfball course is an introductory course designed for aspiring and current teachers with little or no experience of Korfball working in both primary and secondary school environments. Learners need to be a New Qualitied Teacher, have Qualified Teacher status or be on a PGCE pathway.
What will I gain from doing this course?
- An understanding of how to teach the basic individuals skills in Korfball
- A knowledge of the basic rules of the game
- Plenty of ideas for adapted games
How long is the course?
The course lasts for 3 hours
England Korfball Activator Course
‘Activators’ are enthusiastic volunteers who introduce Korfball to individuals in a fun, friendly and relaxed environment. Activators are essentially responsible for coordinating, organising and facilitating Korfball activity.
Who is the course for?
- Young people aged 16 years and above
- Helpers in clubs who are not ‘coaching’
- University students
- Parents
- Adults other than teachers
- Project leaders
How long is the course?
The course is 3 hours in duration.
We advise that all coaches, clubs and area associations make themselves familiar with the England Korfball Minimum Standards for Deployment for Coaches.
