Dean Leak appointed Chair of the Strategic International Committee
England Korfball are delighted to announce the appointment of Dean Leak as the new Independent Chair of the Strategic International Committee.
Dean will support the England Korfball Board to help achieve our vision, mission and objectives.
One of Dean’s first tasks will be to support the recruitment of the new International committee and coaching/ management teams for all England Korfball squads.
Dean will then establish both medium and long term strategic plans for the international programme and as such set the objectives for the International Committee to achieve.
Working with the International Committee Dean will review progress and strategic plans and provide accelerated support where required.
He brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and expertise having worked in some of the world leading GB programmes.
Since graduating from university in 2009, Dean has since spent 7 years in the UK high performance sporting system.
He started his career as a talent transfer project coordinator for GB Taekwondo alongside practising as a mental skills coach for the GB Canoe Slalom programme.
His passion and curiosity for developing human excellence saw him be appointed the Performance Pathway Manager for GB Taekwondo in 2011.
Responsible for building a nationwide talent system which did not previously exist, Dean quickly demonstrated track record enabling him to go to government and strategically secure a 288% increase in public funding for the Rio cycle.
In February 2015, he was head-hunted by British Shooting to form part of their Senior Leadership Team as a Talent Pathways Manager where he continues to build a sustainable talent system in the UK.
Dean has a huge passion for enabling people to be their best and fascinated by understanding cultures and systems to find solutions in transforming sports at a community and high performance level.
