The England Korfball Board is thrilled to announce the appointment of Sam Wells as Chair of England Korfball for a three-year term. This marks an exciting new chapter for our organisation.
As Interim Chair, Sam’s outstanding leadership and unwavering commitment guided England Korfball through a challenging summer, ensuring stability and unity after the departure of David Marshall.
Sam’s legacy as an international representative and a pillar of our community is a source of immense pride. Their dedication to the Board and pivotal role in Grand Final events have inspired many and strengthened our sport.
In taking the helm on a permanent basis Sam said “Despite insisting at the last two AGMs that I didn’t want to take on the role of Chair on a permanent basis, I have reflected and reconsidered my position. The change of heart comes as a result of the hard work that has been put in over the last few months by the Board, our committed volunteers and Chris Parkin. Many of the actions and processes mentioned at the pre AGM briefings and the AGM itself are well underway and I am keen and excited to see these through so that the next England Korfball Chair has a much steadier ship to steer”
