Norwich Knights drop down one place into 5th in the league after Bec from London convincingly defeated Knights 25 goals to 16 at Whitgift Sports centre.
“It was a good strong term performance today. Ben King’s shooting was great, hitting seven open play goals. We are defending as a team and creating lots of chances – I’m pleased with 25 goals against a hard working Norwich Knights team. As a coach I am very happy with a team who all train every week and push each other to improve” Dave Buckland, Bec Head Coach.
BEARSTED (17) v KV (22) – Referee: Paul Jeanes.
In the second of the days Kent derby matches it was KV who took both points with a 17-22 win against Bearsted. The win moves KV into 4th place in the league table on 16 points.
“We were really pleased with our improvement on the score from the first match against KV. It has been encouraging for the team going into the important end of season matches. Many of our younger and newer players really stepped up and made a difference for us today with particularly good games from the girls” Karl Sieber, Bearsted KC.
KV’s player/coach James McDonald speaking after the match “After losses against Trojans and Bec it was important to get back to winning ways and take the points today. Bearsted showed great spirit and shot well at times but we managed to control the majority of the game and got the win”
TROJANS (20) v BIRMINGHAM CITY (10) – Referee: David Bond.
Reigning league champions, Trojans KC, continue to lead the league table after a 20-10 home win against Birmingham City. Trojans’ Stan Dunn top scored in the match with six goals, four from open play and two penalties.
