We would like to welcome Cathy Hughes to the  EK Board as Independent Diversity & Inclusion Lead

Cathy’s appointment was approved by the England Korfball Board January 2022 following an open recruitment process.

Cathy has spent 15 years at Sport England, most recently as Head of Equality & Diversity. In this role they were responsible for a number of key projects including the creation and management of the diversity on sports boards project which has seen a significant increase in more diverse board candidates in the sport sector. They led on the EDI changes within the new Code for Sports Governance and also the publication of the Sports Councils’ guidance on Transgender participation in domestic sport.

Many years ago Cathy represented Great Britain at the European Ironman Triathlon Championships and more recently involved in athletics coaching.
