The Korfball Team

Share

Hi everyone!

We’re thrilled to share the first of our monthly community updates with you all! Our aim is to keep you informed about everything we’re working on behind the scenes, and give you a preview of any upcoming events or initiatives that may be of interest to you.

Coaching Courses

Over the past few months, we’ve been working closely with our partners at Sport Structures to develop comprehensive Level 1 and Level 2 Korfball coaching courses. These courses are designed to support the development of coaches at every level, helping to raise the standard of coaching and the overall player experience across the country. We’re now just about ready to announce the first round of course dates and pricing. Be sure to check our website in the coming weeks for the full details – we’re excited to get these courses underway and can’t wait to welcome you to the training sessions!

Home of England Korfball

Finding a permanent ‘Home of England Korfball’ has been a key priority for us, and we’re excited to share that we’ve identified a potential venue that could host everything from our Performance squad camps to special events and even our Grand Finals. We’re currently in discussions with the venue to finalise the terms of a commercial deal that works for both sides. While there’s still some paperwork to work through, we’re optimistic that this will be a game-changer for the future of the sport, providing us with a central hub for all things Korfball. Stay tuned for updates – we’ll be sure to keep you in the loop!

Governance of the Sport

As part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen the governance of Korfball, we’ve been working with a specialist expert to review our off-court discipline regulations. This review is helping ensure that we align with current industry standards, particularly around social media conduct, discrimination, and other important matters. These guidelines are crucial for maintaining a positive and respectful environment for everyone involved in Korfball.

Additionally, we’ve completed a review of our current systems, and at the latest Board meeting, we agreed to implement a new backend administration system. This new platform will allow us to better manage all club, team, and member data, while also ensuring full compliance with Safeguarding legislation. We know how important it is to provide a streamlined and user-friendly experience for everyone, so we’re excited to roll this out. The system will also give everyone the ability to update their own details, making it easier for you to keep everything up to date. We’ll share more information as soon as the system is live and ready for use.

Finally, we’re also in the process of reviewing our Competitions Administration Platform. We know that many of you have experienced some frustrations with the current system, and we’re actively working to find a better solution. We’re aiming to have a clearer idea of where we stand with this by April, and we’ll make sure to keep you updated on any changes or improvements.

Thanks so much for your ongoing support – we look forward to sharing more exciting news with you soon!
